Treatment Needs Assessment

Don’t know if you need help? Start here to find out when sessions are held.

Getting Started with a Treatment Assessment

A treatment needs assessment (TNA) is the first step in determining if someone needs further help with their addiction, substance use disorder and/or other mental health issues. TNAs typically take one to two hours.

What happens during a TNA?

During a TNA, you’ll spend time with a counselor as they perform an assessment, asking you questions and filling out descriptive forms. You’ll talk about your history of substance use, bio-medical conditions, how you manage daily activities, your awareness to triggers, living environment and more.
